Jimmy, you are very correct indeed when it comes to raising dogs.  In Houston, TX, where I live, I have a few neighbors that have pit bulls that are very FRIENDLY. 

Sadly, pit bulls have been given a bad rap because many heartless people use them in fighting.  Just recently, the HSPCA in Texas made a HUGE dog fighting sting operation, confiscating hundreds of dogs.  It really breaks my heart hearing of things like this because of the sad fact that most of these dogs will HAVE to be humanely euthanized.  There should be a federal law that would prohibit these types of cowards form ever owning any animal ever again.

When it comes to owning a dog, remember:

It is NOT the breed itself that determines if it is vicious.  It is HOW you RAISE your dog that does.
